The Pre Hierarchy Horn sounds off with both inhalation and exhalation.  Combined with the wide mouth opening, this proven tools helps very young children and clients with minimal airflow progress to the Original Horn Kit. Also for those who are not able to blow Horn #1.  Instructions included

The Horn Kit is a therapy implementation program to supplement traditional placement therapy techniques.  Each of the 12 horns in this Airflow Hierarchy addresses specific oral-motor movements necessary for speech and feeding development.  The system is designed to normalize oral-motor skills for appropriate articulation of speech sounds, abdominal grading for respiration and support, and appropriate oral-nasal contrasts. 

Each horn's position in the Airflow hierarchy is based on level of difficulty and degree of potential benefit.  Refer to the Horns As Therapy Tools DVD for addtional instructions about how to best implement this program.  Appropraite for clients of all ages (12 months and older) and ability levels.  Instructions included.

Sara Rosenfeld-Johnson, MS, CCC/SLP has re-configured the Horn Blowing Hierarchy. Horn #9 (Airplane Horn) and Horn #14 (Balloon Horn) are no longer components of this kit. This change will NOT affect the Hierarchy in any way.

Horn #1 promotes lip closure and drooling control, and focuses on bilabial sounds m-b-p and on lower lip sounds f-v-r.

Horn #2 helps normalize airflow patterns, correct lateral lisp, and focuses on bilabial sounds m-b-p and lower lip sounds f-v-r.

Horn #4 facilitates a higher degree of lip closure and drooling control, and focuses on bilabial sounds m-b-p and lower lip sounds f-v-r.
